Kevin Fitzpatrick, a dedicated community leader, has announced his candidacy for a seat on the Pinehurst Village Council, with a central pledge to protect and strengthen local decision-making.
“I’m running because I believe strongly in the ability of local communities to govern their own affairs,” Fitzpatrick said. “We’ve seen repeated efforts in Raleigh that would have abolished local control, and enough is enough.”
Fitzpatrick highlighted that planning and zoning, growth, the extra-territorial jurisdiction, housing, transportation, government operations, and public amenities are all critical issues that Pinehurst must address in the coming years.
“These are complex matters that require careful consideration by local officials who deeply understand and respect Pinehurst’s unique character and history,” he continued. “Above all, decisions must be made in the best interests of our residents. In short, we know what’s best for us.”
As his campaign moves forward, Fitzpatrick plans to engage residents in meaningful conversations about these topics, ensuring the community’s voice is front and center.
