With election season approaching, Kevin Fitzpatrick, candidate for Pinehurst Village Council, is calling for a collective effort to protect the Village’s natural charm from what he calls “yard sign blight.”

“Like mosquitoes in the summer, election season brings its own nuisance: yard signs,” Fitzpatrick said. “Each cycle they descend like locusts, littering our highways and marring the beauty of Pinehurst.”

Fitzpatrick emphasized his commitment to preserving Pinehurst’s unique aesthetic. While welcoming supporters to display signs on their private property, he pledged that his campaign will not place signs along major roads or on the Village’s iconic traffic circle.

“I care too much about this remarkable village to contribute to that kind of visual clutter,” he added. “I would be grateful for anyone who chooses to place a sign in their yard, but I believe we can run a strong campaign without detracting from Pinehurst’s scenic appeal.”

Fitzpatrick also encouraged his fellow candidates to show similar respect for the community by limiting sign placement to private yards.

“Let’s keep Pinehurst beautiful—not just during election season, but all year long,” he said.
